Yoga was systematised over 2000 years ago by Patanjali. It consists of universal, ethical principles, personal discipline, body positions, breathing techniques, awareness of the senses, concentration of the mind, meditation and a connection to a lack of boundaries. Although yoga has become popular in many styles and approaches, it nonetheless requires many years of study and much practice. If you would like to understand yoga and obtain permanent benefits from it, it requires regular practice. Such practice becomes a way of life in order to train and transform your body, your mind, your emotions and your soul. It requires that you go beyond pure technique and pure craft. It requires that you enter into a spiritual relationship to all forms. Yoga is a science and a system for regaining one’s health. It is a form of art and movement which has contributed to the health and mental well-being of humans for centuries. From an anatomical point of view, yoga makes sense. To extend one’s body and to feel how the muscles expand in the middle is an absolutely invigorating and stimulating feeling. Opposing movements develop your equilibrium and improve your ability to remain in peace and harmony. Yoga improves your sensory perception and strengthens your mind. Yoga is a form of movement in Nia which indicates to you the relationship between the bones and the connections between balance and appropriate expenditure of energy, between posture and well-being and between body and mind. Yoga promotes all of life. Nia has taken on many concepts, principles and basic attitudes from yoga. However, you should never forget that it, as with every type of movement form, requires years of study until the true art of yoga is completely developed and revealed, until you can completely incorporate and understand it. It also requires special training in order to teach yoga. read more
