For me, Nia is physical therapy and, even more, a training of the mind. I see in Nia the same possibilities for personality development as with yoga, such as contact to one’s inner self, training of intuition, practicing being the impartial observer with regards to the images appearing unconsciously, but through quite different means. In Nia, this occurs dynamically and through emotions. In yoga, this happens more statically and through concentration. Nia is cheerful, happy, embraces life and can be more easily integrated into daily life than yoga- the dance of life, so to speak. For me personally, Nia was a real ray of light-contact in a year that was very stressful and difficult upon many levels for me. An indicator of the course of my own development. Initially, I could have constantly broken down in tears because I knew how much I had lost the awareness of my own body and had thus become distanced from my own self over the years-how little I was able to take control of my space. I have come far in Nia as well and am full of thankful admiration for Ann Christiansen as a woman who loves her calling. Ann Christiansen loves Nia so authentically that it lends her an almost magical radiance. She is an experience and an inspiration! Ulrike, yoga instructor read more |
