"In my Nia sessions in the past, the focus was on the shoulder and neck regions. We were supposed to move our arms like wings. While doing this exercise, I closed my eyes and imagined how a great bird moves its wings up and down. It really felt as if I had wings instead of arms. That really impressed me a lot"

"In Nia, I can zone out, let loose, and really find myself in the here and now. I leave each session exhilarated, without any worries and in a cheerful mood no matter how I had felt when the session began. My posture has improved and my gait has become more feminine. My mental attitude seems to have also been positively influenced by the physical positions used in the sessions: I have become more positive. For me, Nia has been a wondrous, enormous gift which I accept thankfully because the best thing I have found in Nia has been myself! Very early on, I lost contact to myself, to my higher self, my inner child. I became aware of this lack of contact through Nia and I am quite slowly gaining access to myself and learning to treat myself in a more loving fashion. Through the fun of movement, I am finding a new lease on life and, in quite small, very important steps for me, I am finding energy that I never felt before and am continuing to learn more about myself. My contact to myself is becoming greater and my awareness is becoming well-trained. It feels to me as if I were wearing a corset that was much too small so that I couldn’t breathe. Then, as I dance, it begins to become looser and I discover that I have wondrously beautiful wings that have only been waiting to extend in their full glory!"
